Freestep, the comfort shoe brand, was originally established over 20 years ago and in that time we have sold over 20 million pairs nationwide through various retailers.
Relaunched in 2010 by Courtaulds (Footwear) Limited, new Freestep promises value for money without compromising on style, comfort or quality.

Courtaulds has a long history, stretching back as far as 1816 when it started manufacturing silk mourning crêpe, a fabric very popular in Victorian Britain.  Courtaulds even produced the silk for Queen Victoria's mourning gowns!

We also manufacture for many big names on the UK high street including Clarks and Marks & Spencer – so we know a thing or two about making quality shoes!

Put together by the creative and sourcing teams based here in Cheshire and the Far East, we manufacture almost all our products in our own factory in southern China.

The Freestep range is mainly produced from premium textiles and suedes and we use linings such as luxurious faux fur and warm terry.
